As Harvest Fest is approaching at a rapid pace, all hands are on deck (PLEASE).  This year we are celebrating two milestones together.  The Walden Harvest Fest in its 25^th year and The Walden Community Council in its 15^th year.  If there is one thing I know be ready for one big celebration.  Planning meetings for Harvest Fest are the last Wednesday of each month at The NY School of Music.

Please pass the word that you can still purchase a personalized brick to placed in Walden Veterans Memorial Park. For more information, please contact Brenda  or Nat.

The Flag Day Ceremony at Veterans Memorial Park was absolutely wonderful. The Committee is to be congratulated for all their hard work.

On May 13^th the RAGNAR Relay Race took place.  The Village of Walden’ s checkpoint wa

s held at the Thruway Market parking lot. The runners voted the community with the best checkpoint.  The results are in and WE WON!!!!!

The cost of the calendars will be $10.00 each with payouts of $12.00, $20.00 and $35.00.

The sale of bricks for Walden Memorial Park has been very successful.  Please stay tuned for further information on this project.

As many of you know by now, the lottery calendar has been a huge success. On May 13^th and 14^th there is going to be a Ragnar Relay Race taking place.  There will be several different checkpoints along the way and this year they will be stopping in the Village of Walden at the Thruway Market parking lot. I would like to take the time to say THANK YOU to the rest of the executive board (past and present) and all the committees for all they do.  You give a lot of your time and effort. 

The Walden Community Council and its committees have been very busy all year and I can’t believe that 2011 is approaching at record speed.

Congratulations to the WBA (Walden Business Association) for the hard work and excellent planning with Christmas on Main Street.  In spite of the cold wea

ther, the event went very well.

The Christmas tree lighting was absolutely beautiful.  Thank you to the committee that made the children’s Santa photo op a beautiful and exciting place to visit and have pictures taken.   Special thanks to the Walden Woman’s Club for providing the cookies and juice each year. 

Walden Harvest Fest was one of the best (we say this a lot because we keep improving with age).  The committee will be starting up again in February.  This is a milestone year for both Harvest Fest and Community Council – 25 years and 15 years respectively.  Please join us with the planning.  We could use your help.

Veteran’s Memorial Park is looking great.  Kudos to the committee for all their hard work.

Special thanks go to our Village government liaisons, beautification committee, community image, public relations and website committees.
