Veterans Memorial Park
The Walden Community Council, in cooperation with the Village of Walden, local veterans groups, and residents of Walden completely renovated the small park located on the west side of the “upper” bridge (the Walden Veteran’s Memorial Bridge) which included the purchase of a Flag Pole, installing solar lighting, and a complete landscaping over-haul. The committee that started the park’s renovation over a year ago was called Project 365 and lead by Bobby Montenaro.
The park, known as the Veteran’s Memorial Park, was completed in time for the Memorial Day Parade 2010 and a Flag Day Ceramony.
The WCC is now working on getting pavers which it will sell, engrave and install on the paths at the park. All proceeds from the sales of the pavers will go into the on-going maintenance of the park.
